It's official. We converted Koen's crib to a toddler bed this evening. Relatively simple, but nothing is fast when you have a toddler "helping." Thanks, Mom, for the bed rail to keep him from falling out. It is adjustable and so we were able to use it now as well as later when we convert to the real bed.
We will have to see how Koen does tonight and more importantly, tomorrow morning, but he was definitely excited about it. He wanted to practice with lots off and door closed and everything before we went down for dinner. He also has already figured out how fun it is to bring his books into bed. I bet we find him sleeping on top of books someday after a naptime or something. He is such a reader! I tried to explain, without encouraging, that if Teddy "falls" out of bed now, he can just easily pick him up and go back to bed. Hopefully he gets it.
We put those safety things on the door on his side so that he can't walk out in the middle of the night or something and I scoured the room for hazards. I'm a little freaked out thinking of him completely on his own and able to get at anything now that the crib is opened up. Will report in the morning on how it all goes tonight!
Mommy, WOW! He's a big boy now. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I would say he is 75% the way there. Last 25% = toilet training. Yikes. Wait until you hit that joyride. =)
