A busy weekend for any Pastor's family for sure, but this was a beautiful and special Easter weekend for the Melders in the Burgh. The weather was lovely, we are so blessed with our boys and we are enjoying being a part of our neighborhood as well as our church community this Spring as they both thrive along with all the trees, plants and flowers coming to life again.
Being a mom of two boys and married to another boy is a lot of fun. Today I was proud of my 3 handsome, adorable boys. We all somewhat coordinated too. Koen was so excited to wear a tie and dress shirt and dress shoes like Daddy that he wanted to put his outfit on right away. Tavin wore his first button down dress shirt, a special gift from our Aussie kindred spirits, Nic & V.
We had almost 20 people over here for lunch after the 2nd service at church. Entertaining has changed a lot since becoming a mom, especially now as a mom of 2. I had to feed Tavin, get Koen to bed for nap and then clean up an absolute Tavin explosion, then put Tavin to bed for his nap. Finally, then I was free for a little while to chat and eat, but my energy level was pretty sapped! Thankfully, our guests were gracious and just enjoyed all having a home to celebrate Easter in together in a family way. We had a blast being their hosts. We are so blessed by community here!
This evening I took the boys on a long walk to Sean & Jen's for a quick visit. We brought Koen's ball so he could play soccer in the backyard with Uncle Sean. I hope Sean didn't mind me totally dumping my kid on him for a half hour, but it was a nice break from Koen's energy (especially since he never settled down for a nap today and so he was a little off). Tavin slept while we were there, much to Aunt Jen's chagrin.
Douglas is home earlier than usual for a Sunday night. Only 3 services today instead of 4. It's great to have Daddy here to help with bedtime!
