Truth in the Tinsel, Days 10 & 11

Today we played catch-up on our ornaments.  Doug had Koen out all afternoon (such a nice break after what was a VERY intense Sunday) and so we missed our special craft time.  We had a good time catching up today.  Koen thought it was pretty fun to do "double" Truth in the Tinsel today.

Day 10 was about Joseph's dream, so we made a tiny little pillow.  Koen wanted to snuggle up with it.
Day 11 was about Jesus' name.  Koen was pretty excited we were finally doing Jesus.  Our focus was on his name and that he is greater than all that came before and all who have followed/will follow.  I kind of simplified this one down from putting other names before and after Jesus' name on the ornament (they were supposed to be smaller than His name to signify the point I mentioned) and we just modge-podged Jesus' name after cutting out the letters from a magazine.  He thought it was a lot of fun.  Sometimes the ornaments take more Mommy involvement than others.  This was a great one because he could identify letters, cut them out and do the glueing/modge-podgeing with little help.
These ornaments and this special time every afternoon this December have been a saving grace for Koen and I.  He is going through a very difficult time behaviorally.  It is such a blessing to have this positive, uplifting time every day.  I still lose my patience at times as he goes through the activity due to how raw I've been rubbed the rest of the day, but all in all, it's a great constructive thing for us to work on every day, bringing us closer despite this rough time he is going through.
