Before lunch we got it situated in the stand, but then we left it for Koen and I to work on while the little guys (and Doug) took a nap. Koen was really hard today and it wasn't exactly all tinsel and mistletoe decorating the tree with that kid, but we did have some good moments. I eventually decided it was time to stop and Koen had his rest time and I breathed a sigh of relief and took a break myself. Later in the evening, we resumed our decorating with Tavin and it was a much more enjoyable time thankfully. Doug tried to get a few photos, but be prepared they are definitely candid (i.e. not professional at all). Here's Tavin putting up ornaments oh so carefully (he was precious with the process).
And here's my Koen hanging an ornament. He's in his apron because he and Doug made spaghetti and meatballs together. Somehow that has turned into a little tradition that Koen happened to remember. Last year we had spaghetti the night we got the Christmas tree and Koen asked us this morning if we would do that again. We figured, sure, why not?
Doug tried to capture a picture of the decorating team, but it was a classic Mom of Boys moment. The boys couldn't stand still. Tavin was enamored with a moving snowman ornament and Koen wouldn't stand still, at this particular moment the whole scenario had me laughing. We tried again and Koen now was into this Christmas light ornament and wouldn't put it down. Tav was still into the snowman. Oh dear.
Well, Tav looked up from the snowman, so worth showing. =)
Well, the Christmas tree is about down now after I moved about 20 ornaments that Koen and Tavin had placed all on top of each other. I hope they don't notice. =)
