Backyard Time with Aunt Leah

Koen is so enjoying this special visit with his Aunt Leah (as we all are). And we are all enjoying the benefits of the backyard improvements as we spend time together this weekend in the hot weather. It's great because after naptime the backyard is mostly in the shade and last night there was a beautiful breeze as well.

Last night after we woke Koen up from a 3 hour nap at 5:30pm, we all hung out in the backyard. He eventually ate his dinner out there, ending with watermelon. In this photo, he is in one chair having a very adult discussion with Aunt Leah, "how was your day Aunt Leah?" while covered in watermelon juice, followed by, "what was your favorite part?"

(also notice how Leah is entertaining Koen as well as keeping Tavin happy on her lap)

Today after church, Aunt Leah worked on teaching Koen how to play wiffle ball. We ended up making Koen a "tee" as Leah's pitching is a little off. But Koen is making progress and Leah is a great teacher. Koen definitely enjoys this special attention and this new sweet relationship he's developing. He definitely told me, "go inside Mommy, I'm spending time with Aunt Leah right now."
