Doug has been playing tennis lately and he's found some great tennis partners and opponents. One of them works with the PSO and gifted us some tickets to Saturday's Fiddlesticks Concert. Fiddlesticks is a special series of concerts for children and families. Koen and I went one other time when he was very small, so I was excited to bring he and Tavin when they could appreciate it a little more. What an amazing event for kids to be exposed to beautiful music, an amazing music hall and just a great experience all around downtown. So, the plan was for Doug to stay with little Penn and I got to take the big boys downtown on the bus for the arts immersion. Here are the boys and I waiting for the bus...
Then I got a little picture of the very happy bus rider, Tavin, on our way downtown.
The Fiddlesticks Concert also includes some activities beforehand that compliment the orchestra performance for the day. Here are the boys coloring in the craft area before the show.
We also watched some of the sing-along...
And participated in the dance room. Here are the boys listening to the instructions.
Tavin was so cute trying to stay close to brother, but also concentrating so hard that he found himself in a different part of the room. So precious.
There's big brother! Own the room, Koen, own the room.
I didn't realize you couldn't take pictures in the actual Hall, so before that announcement I had taken this one of the orchestra warming up. I just love Heinz Hall and I so enjoy exposing the boys to great music.
We greatly enjoyed the concert and headed out only one song early to make sure we didn't miss our bus. As we left the hall, we bumped into a parade going through downtown and stopped just a minute to enjoy a drum and dance troupe. The boys loved it.
There was also a Corvette club in the parade that we walked past. Grampa, we took this picture for you since it's a 69 I believe and so similar to your Vette's body style. Tavin was so excited to see Corvettes!
Well, we didn't need to leave the concert early as we ended up waiting almost 30 minutes for our bus, but oh well. Better safe than sorry. Here are the patient urban brothers waiting it out.
We had a fun ride back on the bus with the boys talking it up and everyone getting quite a kick out of it. All in all, we had a great outing downtown and it was a really fun change of pace for me to be with the big boys while Doug was with Penn. Doug really enjoyed that special time with his littlest son. Here's a sweet picture he caught of him saying, "agoo."
Thanks for watching Penn, babe. I had a fun date with Koen and Tavin! Oh and here's a sweet picture of Penn that we sent to Doug later in the day as a thank you from Penn to his daddy for his fun morning. So precious!
Great Saturday and a lot more Daddy time than usual on a preaching weekend. Yay!
