Cow Appreciation Day 2011
Today was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-Fil-A. This means that if you show up dressed as a cow you get a free meal! And not just any meal, whatever meal you would normally order! This frugal fun lunch date was enough to get me to put on my creative thinking cap and figure out a way to make both the boys bovines for lunch. Koen was completely excited for this fun activity, so I made his costume a participatory event. He loved it! We cut out white circles and used safety pins to put them on a black t-shirt that would cover his whole body. Then he made sure to try it on and "moo" all the way up to the playroom to show Doug and Tavin. For Tavin's outfit, I put him in a white onesie and found a black baseball cap that barely fit anymore and taped on a sign that said, "moo." That was all it took for this cutie to win some free chicken. I love Chick-Fil-A! Koen was so brave with the huge cow there, look here he is in a picture with him! He also made sure to wave at him every time he passed our table. Both Koen and Tavin got balloons with little cows on the bottom.Tavin loved it! So, this was a fun outing and it worked out perfectly to give us something out of the ordinary to do on a rainy day (not to mention Chick-Fil-A is right near Target, so I got to run errands!). Thanks, Chick-Fil-A!
