Middle & Little

Last year when Koen was in school, Penn was still quite young for really palling around with Tavin.  He wasn't really crawling and you know how at this age with each new day they are more and more interactive and communicative.  Well, with Koen off at school Penn is finally noticing Tavin and all that this big brother has to offer.  Tavin is also rising to the occasion and giving Penn the attention, patience and playmate he so desires.  Koen is gifted with babies and has had an easy time getting to know and commanding attention from Penn, which I've been so thankful for, but it is so fun to see Tavin and Penn developing their own brotherly friendship.  Here's just a glimpse of my middle and my little the last few days...

Living on a corner in a busy part of the city always provides a lot of interesting entertainment for our boys.  Penn is learning to appreciate it.  Tavin was watching the street sweeper and Penn did his best to participate in the experience.
We decided to get some fresh air one morning before lunch and thought we'd take a quick stroll to check on the big "demolition" project nearby.  Penn was just as riveted as his older brother (I gotta admit, I get pretty mesmerized too watching the big machines do their work!).
These are my favorite pictures because they capture that Tavin and Penn are indeed actually playing together.  Tavin named this game "Follow Me, Penn Rye."  Penn squealed in delight as he scurried behind Tav pushing a big ambulance with his own little ambulance.

I'm guessing there will be many a post on this topic.  It's just the beginning of a lifelong friendship for these guys and we have several years still that Tav will be home much of the time developing this relationship while Koen's at school.  I can't wait to watch, enjoy, capture and share it.  Brothers are pretty special!
