Daddy Day at the Children's Museum

I've mentioned before that Douglas used to have a weekly "Daddy Day" with Koen when I used to work at the office two days a week (pre-Tavin years). I feel that Koen still remembers this special routine from his early years and when there is an opportunity to spend a day with Daddy, he is just elated and he always does so well with their adventures. Yesterday Doug took Koen to the Children's Museum as the celebration for again filling up the kindness quilt. I have to say, the kindness quilt has been a very helpful tool to help both us as parents and Koen focus on the positive each day and it makes being kind even more fun! I don't know how long the novelty will last, but Koen is still very into it even though we are now on our 3rd time filling up the quilt. So, the boys had a blast as always. Here are some of the pictures Doug caught on his phone while they kept very busy... They finished their time together with a lunch in the Strip District. After they ate their food Doug gave Koen a dollar and let him order a hot cocoa all by himself. The counter was only 20 feet away from Doug and he could see him the whole time. Doug stood up repeatedly to watch Koen in line and Koen said to him, "you can sit down, Daddy, I'm just waiting in line." He was really proud of himself and told me all about it when he got home. What a big boy!

Thanks for making so many sweet memories with our boys, Douglas. You are such a great Daddy!
