I feel like I've been enjoying my time with the big boys lately. Enjoying getting into the games, the crafts, the stories, the incessant talking, the not-so-funny jokes, etc. Tavin has been obsessed with playing with airplanes, asking to go back to the airport, etc. since our NH trip. So, instead of continually saying "no, bud, we aren't going on an airplane today." I've started saying, "sure, yeah, let's go fly on an airplane!" and then I tickle him. Well, that got old too, so I decided to make up an airplane ride game. He loves it! We pretend to wait in line, scan our tickets, take our seats, put on our seatbelts, store our bags, take off "go up high" as Tav says, then we pretend to start the DVD, then get peanuts and apple juice, then we go through the whole process of landing. He just loves it! I've created a monster as this is all he wants to do. Here is a picture of one of the pretend airplanes we've created and Koen is the captain. Notice Tavin has packed his backpack for the trip. Oh yeah, Koen put the pillows on each chair to make it more comfortable for everyone. Thank you, bud.
Since it was a rainy night (last night) and Koen was really over the whole airplane game, we moved on to making forts. Here's the fort...
I know it doesn't look like much, but they loved it! Here are the sweet, happy brothers in a moment where they weren't being silly and crazy enjoying their fort.
So, anyways, just embracing the boyness here at the Melder house. Pretty fun (and not too much of a mess to clean up).
