So, Nana arrived Thursday night. She, of course, brought the boys some thoughtful Valentine's gifts. They were thrilled. Check out Koen's happy face to get another Lego City fire vehicle!
Nana also was very excited to get her hands on Penn. He definitely recognized her as he never got upset when I passed him off even though it was close to bedtime (that's when he has the hardest time being passed to a new set of arms other than Mommy or Daddy). He really liked her scarf too (anything this kid can put in his mouth, he will!).
After we got the little guys to bed, Koen got his bedtime story from Nana. He was soooo tired after a long day at school and the excitement of Nana being here, but it was sweet that he got this special time with Nana. They read a Valentine's Pooh story. =)
So, this morning I left the house at 8am to get to Koen's school and start buzzing around getting things ready for the grandparents to arrive and particularly to make sure the refreshment time went off without a hitch. Nana got to bring Koen to school so that they didn't have to leave when I did. Koen was pretty proud to have his Nana there! I sent another mom around with my camera to capture some moments in general, but I also made a specific request to get some pictures of Koen and Nana. She succeeded! Look at this pair. So sweet!
After all the hub bub at Koen's school, we had a very nice, very restful afternoon. Koen and Nana watched Mary Poppins (Koen had saved up his DVD tickets). He loved it! I took a walk and got a few things done and Doug also got a few work things done and shut his eyes for a little bit. The little guys had good naps too. After this refreshing afternoon, we all had a nice evening. Nana had some playtime with Koen and Tav and then she fed Penn his solids while I took the very energetic and highly silly big boys out for a scooter ride before dinner.
Doug and Penn had a little lovey time too. Oh, how sweet!
Doug cooked a super yummy dinner for his mom and his family. It was delicious. Then his mom had to hit the road and get home. Nana, thank you so much for this quick, but very meaningful visit. It was great to share Koen's school with you and it's always great to have you here with our boys. We love you!!
