The weather has been amazing and we are making the most of it! (And therefore we are also exhausted!). Yesterday we packed up a picnic lunch and headed to Highland Park on our bikes. It was a beautiful ride, breezy, warm sun, but not hot and pretty flat (except for the enormous incline right before the entrance to the park...whew!). We parked our bikes at the Farmhouse and the boys played at the playground for about an hour. They seemed to really enjoy being somewhere different and Koen also found a few kids his age to follow around and try to engage with (they weren't particularly psyched about him joining in the fun, but I was impressed at his boldness and friendliness!). While playing we got some cute pictures of Tav...Koen is tougher to get on camera these days, but Doug snuck a few shots.
We even decided to take a classic "Doug/Amy" shot too.We biked home after our shaded picnic lunch and a little more playtime on the playground. It was very nice on the way back too and the pitch up Penn was nowhere as bad as the incline up Highland, so that was a relief! The boys were exhausted after our adventure and both had to be woken up from their 3 hour naps so that we could go onto the next family activity (see next post...).
