I think Tavin is really enjoying his one-on-one experience with NH. I think he misses the entertainment and companionship of his big brother, but he is certainly thriving in being the only child for a few days. Here he is with the toy box all to himself!
Tavin is using the highchair that was originally my Dad's and was also used as Koen's. Tavin has taken to scrunching down really low in it so that he can try and peek his toes up over the edge of the tray.
The weather has been gorgeous since we got here and we usually spend some time out on the lawn in the afternoons playing. Grampa joined us today and gave Tavin a few fun airplane rides.
Tonight, Tavin got his first trip to La Caretta's, my parents' favorite eat-out spot. He sat in a wooden restaurant highchair for the first time. He did so well! He did try to eat the menu, but other than reaching for the salsa and chips, he stuck to his own food and ate a lot. He was very attentive to all the restaurant hustle and bustle, whipping his head around every which way to keep track of it all.
Tavin was exhausted, but still enjoyed some playtime in the bath and stopped to make a quick smiley picture for Daddy. We miss you, babe!
Koen and Doug had another fun day together. I haven't gotten all the details, but I know Douglas made them French toast for breakfast and they went down to the Strip District on the bus for lunch and I think tonight they visited with our neighbors. Daddy Week is turning out to be pretty special!
