A Stays, Z Leaves

Well, this blog post is a few days late, but back on Tuesday we bid goodbye to Uncle Zac.  It was an excellent visit with this new member of our family.  A great opportunity to all bond more with this awesome dude my sister married.  The boys adored him.  Koen wanted to spend every possible moment he could with him (so sweet!) and Tavin was pretty much the same.  Penn even warmed up to him quickly.  And Zac was great with Jansen too (impressive that he was so comfortable with a 5 week old!).  We will be counting the days til we can spend more time with this fantastic new uncle.  We love you, Uncle Zac, and miss you already!

Thankfully, Aunt Abbie has still been with us and doesn't leave until Friday afternoon.  We need the back up still for sure as Doug is out of town still for about a week.  Here are the pictures I have to share of Uncle Zac soaking up time with the nephews before his departure and Aunt Abbie being her awesome aunt-self.

Sunday night, Zac had some sweet snuggle time with Jansen.  Look at Jansen looking up at him!  Also note how Jansen fits so nicely in Uncle Zac's arms.  So sweet!

Ab has been so helpful.  Each morning she gets up at 7:15am to help me get breakfast for the boys and get Koen out to the bus stop on time (and keep in mind this is this teacher's Spring Break!).  She and Koen have been enjoying their one-on-one time at the bus stop which is a perk (unfortunately the weather has been pretty chilly in the mornings!).

On Tuesday morning, Abbie and Zac had some silly fun with Penn and Tav taking "selfies" before Zac had to head to the airport.  Pretty cute!

On Wednesday, Aunt Abbie was a huge help with Jansen so that Penn and I could get out and run some errands.  She also managed to give Janse his best tummy time yet.  

That evening Aunt Abbie got more Jansen time as he was a little on the cranky side and needed some extra attention.

As you can see, we are so thankful that Zac and Abbie were able to visit (and that Abbie is still here while Doug continues to be away).  Family is such a gift!!
