Truth in the Tinsel, Day 24 (The End)

So, our Christmas Eve and Christmas were quite busy, so we didn't end up doing our final day of Truth in the Tinsel until Monday, the 29th.  Oh well!  I'm still glad we finished it up though.  The boys really liked the final craft which of course displays the climax of the Christmas story, the whole reason this baby was born...to die on a cross for our sins.  We read Philippians 2:6-8 which I feel is worth typing out even to instill once more in my own mind the power of what God did for a sinner like me...

"Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!"

Here are the boys beading the crosses out of pipe cleaner.  So simple, but they really enjoyed this one!
Here are the boys' crosses.  Tav's is blue and green.  Koen's is the one with red in it.
Well, that's it for this year's advent season in the Melder family technically. I pray that drawing out this anticipation of the gift of Jesus Christ to the world and the celebration of the incarnation will help us all hold on to it into the New Year and will daily affect our attitudes and actions.
