Saturday was a packed day of Daddy fun. After our Truth in the Tinsel time, dinner and clean up, it was time to read our Christmas books. On this night we had to catch up, so Penn and Tav both got to open one. That meant Koen wanted to take a picture. Don't we all look so excited that he wanted to photograph this?
On Sunday, we ran an errand to Target before heading to church for a rehearsal for the Kids' Christmas Sing in a few weeks. It was super cute to watch. I, of course, took a few photos. I was proud of Koen for listening so well to the leader and participating so much even though he was the oldest at this rehearsal.
After the rehearsal, there was a yummy breakfast for the kids who had participated (which of course my boys were super psyched to have second breakfast!). Then we headed upstairs for the 11am service. I had the boys sit up with me for the worship service because they love the Christmas music (as do I) and it was a nice little Mommy/boys time. Then they headed downstairs for Kidz Church during the sermon. After church it was home for lunch and naptime. Doug was able to come home with us for a change which enabled me to take Tav over to a friend's house for a birthday party in the afternoon for a few hours. Tav was exhausted from the hectic weekend, but he rallied for the opportunity to hang out with some preschool buddies. There was a balloon artist at the party and Tavin got an airplane with a teddy bear on it as well as a sword with belt and holster. He was pretty happy.
After we got home from the birthday party, Tav crashed for some down time and Koen and I baked up a storm in the kitchen. Our kitchen wasn't all the way done at this point, but we had countertops (yay!) and everything functioning except for the sink and dishwasher. We were baking to prep for our "Thank You Party" on Monday evening when the kitchen would be done and we had invited all the people who had helped us through the crazy weeks of living kitchen-less. Here's one of our creations...Peanut Butter Blossoms. Yum!
We also made a cheesecake. Then it was time to get Penn up, do Truth in the Tinsel and then dinner, clean up, then off to bathtime and bed. Sometimes these days just fly! Well, that was our weekend!
