Back Home with the Boys

Doug and I were away only 24 hours, but we missed the boys terribly. Don't get me wrong, we loved just relaxing and resting for hours....ah, bliss! But our boys are such a blessing and so much fun for us everyday (although taxing at times as well), that we were happy to pick them up. They did great with Lisa and Gary. Koen cried when we got there because he didn't want to leave yet. Tavin happily chatted from his booster seat where he was still viciously cramming food into his adorable little face (Lisa and Gary couldn't believe his appetite!). The boys did great for them, sleeping normally naps and nighttime, and they were great when they were awake too. Koen must have been just buzzed the whole time with playing with Lisa, the new toys, the excitement of the experience, etc. because when he got home he crashed for naptime and then went right to bed on time tonight too. It was really sweet. He loves Lisa so, so much! Tavin had the opposite reaction to the getaway. He was buzzed when we got home. He was well-rested from a good night's sleep and a long morning nap and I think he was just so excited to be chatting with us and at home in his comfort zone again that he chatted through most of his naptime (and also did a big job in his diaper) and maybe slept 20 minutes this afternoon. He was in great spirits the rest of the evening though, so no harm, no foul I guess. Here are a few pictures from our playtime after dinner. Also a few videos of Tavin talking up a storm! He really, really wants to be heard. We just love our boys. The time away was great, but real life is great too. =)
