Spring Has Sprung (well, indoors at least)

Two weeks ago Koen and I planted some tomato seeds. He has been quite the gardener, daily checking on the egg carton trays, watering the seeds as they require water. It's been really impressive to see him take care of them so. Although Spring has come early here essentially (crocuses were up two weeks ago, but were also covered in snow on Saturday, and again today it is 60!), as of yesterday, the tomatoes we are growing indoors also sprouted! Koen was thrilled and so proud. I was amazed as our house isn't generally the warmest abode and I figured the seeds would take an extra week or two before they showed themselves (if they even survived the drafts by the back door where they hang out most of the day). Well, they must be hearty seeds because they are growing just fine! We'll see how we do with the plants the rest of this Spring as we nurture them indoors, but perhaps they will make it all the way to the garden for our summer tomato plants. In the meantime, it's a fun project with Koen.
