While Koen was at nursery school this morning, Doug and I took Tavin to another kindergarten tour. Tavin was again the amazing little buddy. He was happy to have our attention and the school was an interesting distraction for him with all the walking around, children everywhere and the inviting atmosphere. Doug and I absolutely loved, loved, loved this school. It's a lottery system though. Last year the waiting list was 200. We are definitely applying, but we will just leave it in the Lord's hands with those odds there's nothing in our power we can do. It's a little bit of a bummer that there is no half-day kindergarten, but after last week's tour we've been discussing whether or not 1/2 day is really best for Koen. We'll continue discussing it and see where Koen gets in. I think the school we visited today is our favorite thus far, but we still have several more tours and open houses to attend. Ah, the options!!
After Tavin's patience at the tour, we took him to a playground nearby while we waited for nursery school to be over. Tavin seemed a little tired and at a loss without brother coming up with what to do, but he soon found his way. He especially liked crunching around in the leaves, exploring the equipment and pushing the merry-go-round.
Tav was upset that the bouncy thing didn't work well, he kept tipping out. He loved pushing the merry-go-round without brother interfering and him flying off of it!
Tavin even gave me a ride, but before Doug could take that picture Tav was trying to jump on with me (which didn't last long - he definitely prefers pushing it to sitting on it).Tavin was excited to pick up big brother, which is so endearing. We decided to go out to lunch at the Spaghetti Warehouse. We were all hungry (so much so that I was too busy shoving food in Tav's mouth and my own that I have no pics) and it tasted so good to me to have a meal out. I've been homebound a lot lately with Doug's work schedule and his travel this past week, so lunch out was a great break. Thanks, Doug, good idea!
Well, it's a low-key weekend. We'll see what else we are up to. We really have very few plans which is refreshing!
