Mild Winter Moment at the Playground

Today was supposed to be a high of 45 or so, although the morning hours when it's easiest to get out it was only in the 30's.  Either way, there was some sun, no wind and relatively mild temps, so when the boys got home from swim lessons and some errands with Doug, I took over and took the boys down to the playground until lunchtime.  Koen has had a mild cold all week and is exhausted.  Tav hasn't had a nap in about 5 days or so, so he was exhausted too.  They were quite a pair.  Thankfully they were happy to get out into the fresh air for a bit.  Well, happy until they fell apart.  Penn was happy the whole time.  Mr. Oblivious!  He jumped right on to the swings for his Superman moves.
Koen and Tavin played soccer.  They did a good job for a little while.

Then Tavin started falling all over the place on the icy spots.  Next, they started just dribbling the ball around together out in the grass to avoid the icy falls.  Tavin somehow accidentally got tangled up in Koen's legs and Koen lost a shoe.  Koen was appalled.  He just took off sock-footed after Tavin screaming, "I hate you."  It was angry and spiteful and hard to get under control.  The playground trip was pretty much spoiled after that.  I tried to get it to rebound without the soccer ball, but by noon it was clear that the big boys were exhausted (Penn was still just happy-go-lucky) and we should all get home for lunch.  Oh well, I'm still glad I got the boys outside for awhile and I enjoyed the fresh air myself.
