Tavin's Teddy Bear Picnic

In preschool, Tavin is learning about the alphabet all year long.  They are on the letter B currently and therefore this week they have talked A LOT about bears.  They climax of this letter study was to be a Teddy Bear Picnic with parents and siblings invited to take part.  Tavin has been excited about this day all week.  Every person in attendance was supposed to bring a teddy bear and Tav was so excited to bring "Echo," a new bear in his collection from Gramma when we were in NH (named after one of the bears we saw perform at Clark's Trading Post).  Penn brought along a favorite teddy too.  There couldn't be a more perfect picnic for these cuddly, snuggly boys.

Penn and I arrived at 11:30am for Tav's picnic.  Here's his class exiting the building, heading to the yard.  They were reciting "We're Going on a Bear Hunt."  And they were proudly showing off the bear masks they made this week.  Can you tell which bear is Tavin??
We're getting a wave from the Tavin Bear!
Tavin is hilariously confident at school.  He was acting really silly with his mask.  You can't tell here, but believe me.  He's lucky he didn't trip over his own two feet!
Penn, of course, was very excited to see Tavin.  "Hi Dadin!"
When we got over to the yard, there was an enormous stuffed bear laying there.  The kids were all over it.  Especially my kids.  I told you they were snuggly little guys!!

After a nice time eating lunch and chatting with other preschool moms while watching Tav play with his best buddies, it was quickly time to head out.  Before leaving though, the teachers had the kids all get in a circle and join hands for their goodbye songs.  Penn was just one of the class (even doing hand motions!).  It was adorable.  He just held onto the kid's hand that was next to him unabashedly.  I couldn't believe it!
Check out the look he's giving the kid who's hand he's holding once it finally dawns on him that he's holding some random person's hand.  Oh, Penn, you are too much!
Well, it was a sweet little picnic and Tav loved it.  He pretty much loves everything about preschool though.  It's his space for him and he is proud of it and takes full advantage of it.  So thankful for that special place and the teachers and administrators that make it so great!
