Wow. This winter does not want to quit. Also, the weathermen do not want it to quit. They keep forecasting these "huge" storms to hit us. And then it's such a let down. Just when I think this long, hard winter is going to pay off...pfff, the real fun stuff misses us by 50 miles or so. Ugh. Thankfully this storm did dump a few good inches of snow for the Melder boys to play in. While we waited for the accumulation to add up we went to church, then had Aunt Megan and her boys, Alex and Andy, over for play and lunch. Yep, that's a lot of hungry little boys (and mine are a little silly).
Alex and Andy had to head home to nap soon after noon (driving conditions weren't great). So we still had some time to play before the little guys went to nap. Tavin couldn't wait to get out in the snow. Koen didn't want to at first, so he played with Penn.
Here's Tav enjoying the shoveling job all to himself (until I sent Koen out because he was literally bouncing off the wall!).
This afternoon Koen had a friend over (very spur of the moment and a total experiment to do so while the little guys were finishing their naps and it was OK). Then we had a nice family dinner (sans Daddy) and then we all headed upstairs including Penn's favorite buddy from today...baby doll (he calls it dah-dah (that's different than dad-da)). He loved posing for pics with his pal of the day under his arm.
Well, that's our day in brief! Special thanks to Megan, Alex and Andy for the company this morning. We love spending time with friends on Daddy's long work days!
