Since this has been such a long, chilly winter, we are taking advantage of every day above freezing with no precipitation. That got us to the playground four times in two days this weekend. We all loved it. The boys are transformed outside. The cabin fever just burns off and we all have fun. The boys yell, run and play. I love to see them get their energy out so purely and they are hilarious, so I laugh and smile a lot.
First stop was Arsenal Playground in Lawrenceville on Friday morning. Doug was able to hang out with us there a little before his busy afternoon. The little guys loved, loved the slide.
It was a quick stop before Tav's speech therapy appointment, but it was wonderful. Doug got this shot of me and my little ones on my way out.
Next stop was Montessori Playground Friday evening. This time it was just me with all my bugs. Tav and Koen play so well together at the playground. (Almost too well sometimes as they tend to like to make "bad guys" out of everyone else there). It's great to see them running around and enjoying being outdoors. We have all missed this so much!
Penn loves the playground too. Still one of his favorite things is to just walk around from one type of terrain to the other, but often he climbs around on the equipment, through tunnels and down slides. Here's a funny picture of him just smiling at the state of his enjoyment, or something like that.
On Saturday morning we went to Osceola Parklet in Bloomfield. This time we went as a whole family (and also while we were there a family of friends happened to visit the park as well, so it was a fun and quick spontaneous playdate that we all enjoyed).
Our final stop was Montessori Playground again that evening. This time it was getting cold, starting to spit cold rain and was a more brief stay. I was still thankful that we could get outside again though. Didn't take any pics that time. My hands were too cold! Overnight it snowed again and temps dropped, so we haven't been back out to play today. We look forward to the next opportunity though. I can feel it...Spring will come eventually.
