Tav's Preschool Orientation Day!

Tavin has been soooo excited for preschool to start.  It's hard when your big brother gets to go off to school two weeks before your fun starts, so we've pretty much had to outline how much longer he had to wait on a daily basis.  Well, yesterday it was finally the day to walk into those doors and get the preschool year started.  It was just a brief one-hour orientation, but it satisfied Tav that he was on his way to being back in preschool (and this year 3 days a week, he's pretty excited about that).  I, of course, had to document the day with some pics of Tavin.  Here he is (all dressed up by his choice) on our porch before heading out.
Super happy and that genuine preschool smile upon arrival at preschool!  This kid is pretty handsome!
Tav did great with the instructions in his new preschool classroom.  The kids got to play for the first 10 minutes or so and he was thrilled with all the trucks and cars they had on hand.  (Penn was also quite pleased with the toy offering).  After playtime, the kids sat on the rug and learned about their day with their teacher.  Each child has a name on a carpet square for their individual seat.  You can see Penn is the little understudy (Tav's left).
After that, the parents (and Penn) left and got to play in the gym area while the kids learned a little more about their day.  Tav could care less that we left, he was ready to begin.  Here they are learning the Pledge of Allegiance.
They were also introduced to the class mascot/pet, Maxi the Monkey.  Tav will get to take him home some weekend eventually (he's the last name alphabetically in the class though, so I think we have a while to wait).
Tav was totally fine when we returned to the classroom and happy to see us, but also seemed confident and ready to stay all day if he needed to.  He's already been asking when he gets to go back for his whole preschool day.  Thankfully he just needs to wait until Friday.  Great job starting your year, Tavin.  Can't wait to see all the fun you have and all that you learn this year!!

Preschool orientation was the big highlight for the day, but when Doug got home he took the little guys to the playground (Koen came home suffering from the yucky cold and cough that has been running through our home, so he chilled with me).  I just had to find a spot to share this great picture of the little guys having fun together.  They've been quite a pair these past few weeks as Koen has been away at school.  They play well together, they happily entertain themselves independently, they are full of smiles and fun.  I love this pair!!  Penn and I are going to miss our Tavin Dale on preschool days!
