New Year's Eve 2013

As reported in the last post, most of our New Year's Eve was hanging around the house with Gramma and Grampa, but in the afternoon we did have some plans for a little party at Uncle Nate & Aunt Megan's.  They had this same kid-friendly New Year's Eve party last year.  And since I love traditions, I was super excited to receive the invitation to repeat it again this year.  They ring the New Year in with Italy so that it is at 6pm and we can all have dinner together and get the kids home to bed.  We ended up leaving Penn at home with Gramma and Grampa for his own New Year's Eve celebration (aka, normalcy).  So that meant we got to just have two and a little bit more adult conversation with fun friends.  When we arrived Nate and Megan had the house decorated all fun for New Year's.

The kids loved getting to see some of their pals at the party.  Here's Koen and Miles hanging out together in the playroom.
With celebrating New Year's with Italy it was only fitting to eat Italian food.  Megan had make-your-own pizzas for the kids and then she and Nate made some big pizzas for the adults.  Yum!  Here's Koen and Tav making pizza with friends.

It was a super fun night of visiting with friends, watching our kids play and interact and celebrating a great year and looking forward to a new one.  Nate took a group photo and check out how well it turned out (and he had us all sitting there for 5 minutes as he searched for the tripod!).
Thanks for including us guys.  We loved the evening with you and all these friends and our little families (which add up to a lot of kids!).  Happy New Year!  Here's to a fabulous 2014!
