Poor Doug, things have been so busy with our fun house guests, that I didn't take the time to do a little ode to my husband on his birthday (it was Monday, the 3rd). We had a nice family celebration that day. A slow morning, just the 4 of us as our houseguests went out and about in the neighborhood for a few hours. Doug made an amazing lunch and Koen and I baked him a chocolate peanut butter swirl cake (quite a delicious new experiment!). That night Doug and I walked to a new restaurant close to our neighborhood, Salt of the Earth. Doug loved the experience there, it was a perfect birthday choice for him. We sat at the bar that overlooks the kitchen and watched the chefs prepare all the dishes. It was really interesting. The food was a little "upper crust" for me, but still really fun and delicious. Doug and I both really enjoyed our meals and our time to just hang out and chat, first time in a few weeks!
Mo & Koen have been keeping each other busy with chasing around the house, playing trains and having some healthy downtime from each other too. =) A few days ago we took the boys to the pool at the gym, that was a blast. Today we took them back to the Children's Museum. It was much less packed and much more enjoyable. Tavin even was able to nod off for about 45 minutes for his morning nap (this kid ceases to amaze me, he is so good at going with the flow!).
Koen, the plumber. He loved working on the "make your own fountain" area on the water floor at the Children's Museum. We will definitely be going there with more time to spare next time, his little developing engineering mind was just thriving!
Just a glimpse of the adorable puckered lips of my sleeping Tavington Bear.
Mo was training to become an aeronautical engineer himself.
