Presidents' Day Outing with Daddy

Yet another day off from school.  I really think that every single week since Christmas break has been interrupted with either a scheduled day off, a snow day or a one or multiple school delays.  It's driving this mom who loves a predictable routine crazy!!  Anyways, Doug's day off is Monday, so thankfully he was around to hang with the older 3 Melder boys on Presidents' Day.  Phew!!  Rather than have yet another day stuck indoors at our place (that's pretty much all we do if Daddy's not available since it's too cold and germy to take Jansen out unless absolutely necessary), Doug took Koen, Tavin and Penn to the Carnegie Science Center.  Penn was so excited to be included on this big boy outing.  And Doug deserves big props for taking all 3 out (K & T  were a handful that morning, but thankfully after relocating to the museum they all did great!).  Oh, but before I share the pics Doug sent me on their outing, I have to share this one of Daddy with his youngest.  He hung with Jansen while I got some things done in the morning.  Jansen looks pretty content in Daddy's arms!

Here are the pictures I got from Doug throughout their outing.
Space snuggles.
They played in the shuttle for quite awhile Doug said.  Koen would give out orders and Penn and Tavin would do whatever he said.
Penn LOVED the trains.  Can you tell??  "Hi!!!"
Right now the museum has a very cool, hands-on exhibit where you can build with huge foam blocks.  The Melder boys made a pretty great fort (note Penn's static-y hair).
Check out the cool picture of the submarine outside the museum absolutely surrounded by ice.  Yeah, it's chilly here in the Burgh!
A highlight of the museum visit was a fire show the boys attended.  Penn keeps talking about it in his own way (lots of hand motions and sound effects).
Douglas, thanks so much for spending the morning with your boys.  They really needed to get out of the house and I know, especially for Penn, they needed the time together and with you.  Thanks for being such an awesome dad!
