On Saturday we finally got together with some of our kids' oldest friends...Alex, Hilary, Delia and Huck. It was a grand reunion. Huxley and Tav immediately started playing alongside each other, but Koen and Delia took a little longer to get re-acclimated (which was sweet to watch how they are at a different stage like that). Penn tagged along or just kept himself busy. The kids all did so well entertaining one another or themselves that we ended up getting to hang out around the brunch meal for 3 hours. Perhaps our longest and one of the loveliest catch-up visits we've had. It was a relaxing, wonderful morning. Here are a few photos I took amidst the great chats, laughs and enjoying our kids being together. Here's Penn loving the vacuum toy they had (which is ironic since he still cries when I vacuum at home).
Just a shot of the kids all keeping busy and our boys especially enjoying some new and different toys at someone else's house for a change.
The kids table at brunch. They did a good job hanging out in the kitchen and the adults (and content Penn ate in the dining room).
After Koen and Delia warmed back up to each other they became quite a team. They built some marble runs together.
And then they got really creative and imaginative and had a whole tea party for the younger siblings. It was really sweet to see them work on it together in preparation and clean-up, etc.
Thanks so much to Alex and Hilary for hosting us and treating us to a lovely home-cooked brunch and hours of relaxed family fun. We love your family!
