Oh what a beautiful morning for an Easter Egg Hunt! The past two years have been chilly and muddy, but today we finally got a lovely day for our church's Easter Egg Hunt event and it was gorgeous and therefore even that much more fun. Koen is still recuperating (mostly low on energy because he had no appetite and barely ate for 2 days), but otherwise our family was just completely enjoying the outdoor fun with friends. Here are the photos I got of our busy morning playing, hunting and picnicking. Tavin LOVED the bounce house and I was able to get a few action shots of him "being Tigger." So funny that he was in his striped orange sweatshirt for this Tiggerific activity!
Tavin also played a few games like corn hole and a ring toss in order to earn some chocolate. He was pretty excited about the candy prizes.
Penn was completely overwhelmed by the whole experience. So many people and children all around. He kept wandering off while I would talk to someone and then I'd have to search for him and then usually Tavin or Koen would locate him first. (Total awesome mom moments!). Here's Penn waiting for the "go" to start hunting eggs. He had no idea what was happening and preferred to look up at the contrails from some passing aircraft and then looking off to the distance to some diggers working on the other side of the park. Oh little boys!
Penn spent about 2 minutes just checking out the first egg he found, so he basically missed out on the rest of the hunt time. Hilarious.
Doug ended up just plucking him up and relocating him amidst some more available eggs. But he still didn't really catch on and continued to just be so enamored with that one egg.
Tavin, on the other hand, was all business and got a good batch of eggs before they were all plucked up.
Yep, he's still just checking out that pink egg with the sparkly stuff inside. So funny!
Koen was in the big kids section and did a great job hunting with consideration for others. He had a good spoil and was proud of it as you can see in this smile. =)
Well, it was a fun family morning, especially since usually Doug can't hang with us on preaching weekends, so we lucked out that he needed to be there since it was his campus' event. Great job, North Way. Thanks for a fun family morning!
