All year Tavin has been riding to preschool on Wednesday with his friend, Ellie. Ellie is the daughter of my friend, Corrie. It's been so fun to see Ellie and Tavin develop a little friendship (and the conversations these two have are a lot of fun to listen to). But there's someone else who really enjoys Ellie...Penn Rye. Oh my goodness, not a day goes by (and sometimes not an hour) when he doesn't talk about Ellie. It's a name he can say perfectly which I think he loves, but it's more than that because Ellie is a sweet girl and always pays attention to Penn. About a month ago we had a playdate at Ellie's house. And then this week we got to visit again. Upon arrival, Ellie gave big hugs to Penn and he just beamed and hugged back. He can be shy, but not with Ellie! He got his shoes right off and went to play. It was another fantastic morning with these friends because Ellie, Nina, Tavin and Penn play beautifully together and that leaves Corrie and I to chat and pay attention to Jansen. Here are a few pictures from the morning.
Ellie started making friends with a third Melder boy, Jansen. She was so cute with him. First she was trying to get him to smile by tickling his face with her hair.
Then I left the room for a bit and when I returned she had come up with a new game. How funny is that!?! Sorry, Janse!
Corrie, Ellie and Nina, thanks so much for having us over. The boys love playing with you in your lovely, comfortable home. Hopefully we will get yet another playdate in before the summer months of big brother being home. We just love your company!
