On Thursday we had a fun playdate planned at Mellon Park. Mellon has a playground and a spray park and I had planned it specifically for this date because Citipark's Roving Art Cart was scheduled to be there as well. This was quite the tri-fector of fun! We had a great attendance at the playdate too, so it was very busy...catching up with friends, the kids playing with their peers, doing crafts, running around the playground, cooling off in the spray park and picnicking too! Here are some photos I was able to catch amidst all of that though.
The boys spotted the balloon artist pretty early on, so we got in line for some blow-up swords for K & T and a little red puppy for Penn.
Tav hasn't painted since preschool ended, so he was so happy to dive in at the Art Cart. He had a huge grin on his face the whole time. He said he was painting a red sunset.
Next Koen wanted to work with clay. Tav tagged along. They are both concentrating very hard!
Delia and Huck were at the playdate which was another highlight for my boys. They love these two!
After running around for a few hours it was time to cool off. This time I asked Koen to help Penn acclimate in the sprinklers and he did an AMAZING job. Penn quickly grew to love it at Koen's side. It was precious to watch Koen's giftedness with little ones, his patience, gentleness and sincere joy with Penn. (Hence the reason for the play-by-play pics).
We were there from 10am until 1pm and 3 hours was our max. The boys were practically hungry enough to eat another picnic, Penn was soooo tired and we were all maxed out from the sun. It was a lot of fun though. Thanks, Citiparks!!
