No to Storms, Yes to Swings

Our day today was totally in limbo based on the weather.  Strong thunderstorms were supposed to have hit Pittsburgh hours ago and we still have yet to see or hear them.  I'm not complaining though as my day went a whole lot smoother without the rain, thunder and lightning.  This morning we had a playdate with some new friends from the neighborhood.  I was going to host if it rained, but since it held off we went to Osceola Parklet, one of our favorite local spots.  The boys had a blast.  We spent two and a half hours there!  Tavin loved swinging with his buddy, Elliott.  They went back to the swings a half dozen times during our playtime there at least.
Penn was intrigued with all the laughter and smiles coming from his older brother on these big boys swings, so he gave it a try.  First he liked just pushing the empty swing back and forth.  He thought it was hilarious to push it and have it swing right back towards him (thankfully he never got bashed in the face).
A little later he got even more brave (because he so wants to be like Tavin!) and got on the swing for awhile.  So cute and he is just growing up way too fast.
It was fantastic to be out most of the morning with our friends.  The storms ended up missing us for the afternoon too which meant I could walk the boys to their swimming lessons (we were carless anyways, so it would've been interesting figuring out a ride).  It was hot, but breezy and then the pool felt oh so good.  I was just so thankful for the unexpected blessing of lots of time outdoors today when I thought it looked to be a total washout.  Now, tomorrow looks like a definite rainy day, but I guess I can never be too sure!
