Preschool Christmas Sings are in my top 10 of most entertaining things we've enjoyed as parents. Tavin's was no exception. Tavin has LOVED preschool this Fall and is always eager and excited to be there with no problems leaving home, his brothers or Doug and I for this special thing that is just for him. It's been a huge blessing and so fun to see him embrace it. I was so happy for the opportunity to see him in his element and with his "preschool buddies," as he calls them, performing their songs. (Performing is a very loose term). Doug and I love watching his facial expressions, his involvement or lack thereof and of course, we get a kick out of all the other kids doing their preschool-age things (picking noses, itching, fidgeting, singing, glazing over, etc.). So here are the pictures I got and a few videos to try and share this truly joy-bringing occasion.
Tav's the very last one, but dutifully committed to the line.
Here he comes with his little light!
He couldn't find his seat which was cute to watch and then he couldn't spot us. His teachers eventually found us waving wildly as preschool parents do and he caught our eyes and beamed and waved. Ah.
Tav was very interested in what was going on around him. His little buddy, Ben, was next to him and was quite a fun distraction.
In this video, you will see mid-song that Ben has taken his shoes off and Tav takes it upon himself to retrieve them. Hilarious.
Just a little shot of his cute class doing so well sitting "still."
Tav did such a good job paying attention to the other classes and the storytime. It was so sweet to see him in his learning environment.
See, I told you that kids pick their noses at these things. Every time!
Tavin's favorite songs included the bells. Look how happy!
Here's "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," Tavin's favorite (very obvious).
Tav did such a great job and we were excited to congratulate him afterwards (so excited in fact that I let him indulge in one of the sugar cookies they had for refreshments). Tav was pretty distracted by all the people around and the tasty cookie, so it took a few attempts at a photo with his proud mom before we got something bloggable.
Tavin, Merry Christmas, buddy. Great job in preschool this Fall. We are so thankful you have this place to learn and grow and have some special independence. Can't wait to see you there in the Spring (and now Mommy is pretty excited to have you home for the holidays!).
