Speech Progress for Penn

I just had to do a quick (overdue) blog post about Penn's speech progress.  He's been getting speech therapy since he was about 22 months old.  We've seen times of improvement and other times where things seem to just stay stagnant.  A few months ago, his vocabulary was really increasing and his sentences were growing in length and he was talking faster as he strung it all together.  This did a number on his intelligibility level (which speech therapists tell me is totally normal and expected).  But recently, he's made a new leap in his speech progress where he is taking notice himself to make his words clear and precise as able in his accurate sounds even in conversation.  It is precious to see him work hard to end words with consonants and make his vowel sounds appropriately.  Great work, Penn!  Just like Tav, I'm grateful for this process and the way it's helping you learn how trying hard and applying yourself can be rewarding, build confidence and help you achieve a big goal.  Here's a recent pic of Penn and Miss Christal, one of his speech therapists.
It wouldn't be a speech therapy session without Janse and I killing time in the observation room.  What a good little brother!
Again, good job, Penn!  I'm looking forward to seeing your progress continue because I love to hear all that you have to say to me. =)
