Too bad there's not a word for brunch that starts with an "s", that would've made my alliterated post title sublime! (Get it? That's an "s" word too!).
Anyways, we had a fun Saturday into Sunday. The Troxell boys came over for their first sleepover at a friend's house! They were super excited. Doug got all the boys (minus Jansen) out to a playground in the early evening, before dinner, but then the rest of their evening playtime was spent "setting up." We had a nice family dinner (it was a little crazy looking around the table at 7 little boys!!!), then it was off to play and prep for bed. It got a little crazy before laydown, but after calming down with some books (Koen helped)
and a few stern looks and some laying down of the ground rules, it was lights out and I never heard another peep! Good job, boys! (Hang on, wait until the morning report...)
They were up at the crack of dawn, maybe earlier...5:50am. I think Tav was probably to blame. He is an early riser and I think that he was just so buzzed to have Alex and Andy sleeping in his room with him (Koen and Penn slept in their regular rooms alone, so at least they still slept until a more decent time!). The boys did pretty well playing in the room until about breakfast time. They all had a quick breakfast and then they enjoyed awhile to play before Nate and Megan came to join us for brunch before church. Here are a few pics I got around that time. (Janse really likes Uncle Nate!)
We had a lovely brunch and Doug and I were thrilled that we got the boys through their first sleepover with no issue (praise the Lord!). The boys are all looking forward to their next opportunity (as are we)!
