Zoo with the Crew

On Thursday we went to the zoo with Aunt Megan, Alex and Andy.  It was our first time back since the fun, yet fateful visit last November when Penn broke his leg.  It was good to go back and have a blast with no limbs breaking!  All 5 boys were interested in the animals and walked much of our long stroll through the zoo.  Needless to say they were tired afterwards!  Here are the highlights from our visit...

The tigers were lazily lying around, but thankfully doing so right in front of the viewing window.

The zoo trainers were hanging out with the little red panda, so we got to see more action than before from this fuzzy, little animal.

The rhinos were very active (which they always seem to be standing around like stones, so this was exciting).
Check out how big the boys are in comparison with the enormous rhino!
The leopard was also lazily lying by the viewing window.  Penn was just fascinated by how the leopard was licking his legs and so began trying to lick his own arms.  Oh my, Penn Rye!
Teddy came to the zoo too.  He also liked the leopard.
The elephants were really active and fun to watch in their indoor area.  They were walking around, nuzzling each other, drinking water from a spicket, throwing sawdust on their backs with their trunks, etc.  The boys just loved it.  Especially Penn.

We eventually got up to the aquarium (after seeing the gorillas, a lunch break, seeing the cheetas and a black bear).  The boys loved the huge (and ugly) fish.
We sped through the indoor part of the aquarium so that we could make sure and have plenty of time to see the outdoor exhibits like the amazing polar bears.

And the tunnels of sharks.  The boys LOVED the sharks.

We went through a different part of the zoo than I had been to in a long time and the boys loved this "shake/shake" bridge that Alex and Andy knew very well.

Our final animal stop was a quick view of the seals.  They were hilariously engaged with the boys being at the window.  Amazing!
So as you can see, it was a full trip.  The boys did great, but it was clearly time to get them home at that point.  Thanks to Aunt Megan for suggesting the zoo trip (and for the free passes!).  We had a great time!
