Daddy Fun

This seems like a long time ago now (we since have traveled across the NorthEast to reach my parents' in NH), but on Friday and Saturday Doug had some great fun with our boys.  On Friday, I had plans to enjoy brunch with a friend and doing some errands on foot from Lawrenceville to Friendship.  Doug loves to come up with an adventurous way to fill his time with the boys and Friday was no exception.  He loaded up the bikes and helmets, I packed them a snacky picnic lunch and they were off for a biking, water play excursion.  They parked at Washington's Landing and biked all the way to the Water Steps on the North Shore.
After two hours of playing in the water and eating their lunch, they biked back towards the car with a detour through the Strip District for a stop at the infamous Klovan's Ice Cream Parlor.
Then they biked all the way back to the van at Washington's Landing.  Quite impressive, especially for our little four-year-old on training wheels!  Needless to say the boys were exhausted that afternoon and all rested well!  Thanks for making the most of your moments with the boys, Doug.  They will have such wonderful memories because of all your effort!

For Saturday, Doug had been gifted a few tickets to see the incredible "Walking with Dinosaurs."  It's an amazing show with robotic/enormous puppets (tough to explain) huge, life-size dinosaurs.  It was at 11am, so the bulk of midday, Doug had Koen and Tavin out taking in this spectacular event and Penn and I got to stay home and take a walk to run errands and get lots done around the house in preparation for our trip to NH.  Here are a few pictures I received via text from Doug.  Tav was a little overwhelmed, but did well with the show and had great reviews of it when he returned home.

After the show, Doug found out his brother was in town helping a friend move into an apartment, so Doug took the boys over to visit and help.  Koen and Tavin turned out to be huge helpers and when they got home, Tav said that was his favorite part of the outing!  Good job, boys!!

So, as you can see, a pretty fun few days doing some special things with Daddy!!  Thanks again, Douglas, for well, being you.  You are such a great Dad and I love that I also know you enjoy it so much!
